3AM Files is an open archive of the unexplained — hauntings, cryptids, UFO encounters, near-death experiences, and the cases that refuse to fit anywhere else. Every file is collected, categorised, and preserved in one place, free to read.
Why 3AM
Witness reports cluster in the dead hours between three and four in the morning — the stretch folklore has always called the witching hour. It is when sleep paralysis strikes, when shadow figures are reported at the foot of the bed, and when the unexplained seems closest. We named the archive after it.
What We Document
Ghost stories and haunted locations. Cryptid sightings and UFO encounters. Near-death experiences, time slips, poltergeist cases, and reports that defy category. Each case is checked against historical records and witness testimony where possible, filed under one of the archive’s categories, and kept. Nothing is dismissed without investigation — and nothing is presented as more certain than the evidence allows.
Where the Stories Come From
Some cases are drawn from historical records — courtrooms, newspapers, ships’ logs, and police files reaching back more than 150 years. Others come from readers. If something happened to you that you cannot explain, the archive exists for exactly that. Submissions are reviewed before publication, and witness identities are never published without explicit consent. You can remain completely anonymous.
Established in 2024, the archive is updated nightly. It never closes.
